Bistrot Paul Bert

Bistrot Paul Bert is already a legend- great food,Parisian spirit. And, even if there were some "food tourists" , i wouldn't call it touristy... When looking at some people eating there you could feel that they were just enjoying their ordinary  lunch in the bistrot next door...

Le Temps au Temps...

Yesterday i had lunch in the most gastronomic street in Paris. Rue Paul Bert is the home of three famous and hightly praised Parisian restaurants. The number 13 - Le Temps au Temps (01 43 79 63 40) , number 15 - Unico and number 18 - Le Bistro Paul Bert.
Le Temps au Temps is a really tiny place. So small that you will be obliged to almost share your table with strangers, whether you like them or not. But the food represents all the best what can be called "Creative French bistro" . Or as the owners call " cuisine recréative"(recreational cusine). Indeed, the people who where eating there were not in a hurry- enjoying the food, the wine and simply  "recreating".

Vilnius restaurants

I will not understate if i tell that i have been travelling really a lot recently, so luxeat.com has been a little "forgotten". I also spent one week in Vilnius and , being Lithuanian myself, i found interesting to dine out in some of the top Vilnius restaurants and judge them from the food blogger's point of view.

If you stumble upon this post while searching for restaurants in Vilnius, still, the best restaurants are the ones that have been existing since years. Like La Provence , high- end Mediterranean cusine restaurants or "Markus and Co", the oldest steakhouse in Vilnius, steps aways from Stikliai hotel . The steaks in Markus and Co are so good that at one moment i thought i was in a steakhouse in Buenos Aires. I am always facsinated to find such culinary "getaways" in  a city that is not really known for being a gastronomic destination.

Two new worth mentioning restaurants opened in Vilnius. The first is Bistro 18,also very close to Stikliai hotel.The owners are an Irish-Lithuanian couple and the cuisine is a mixture of French, Irish and International. The "Irish Guinness stew" was something new for me, the French cassoulet was as hearty how it has to be.

The Roman feast continues

Thanks Jupiter, to the Roman friends! Like this we didn't have to go to a place full of tourists and mediocre food. Instead, we had a lovely lunch in the Rome's jewish quarter. A very lively trattoria called Giggetto al Portico D'Ottavia. Now, i must confess, i love trattoria Italian food so much that i want to order everything on the menu. Everything. Again, as everybody ordered something different  i had  a chance to try many local specialities.

We feasted like the Romans...

I don't know how about you, but when i am Italy i don't want to eat out in too gastronomic restaurants. For me Italian cuisine is all about  hearty, convivial food that i found in Matricianella ,this simple and cosy restaurant in the heart of Rome. I did dine in Vivendo ( in St Regis Hotel) during the trip,which according to Zagat togather with La Pergola is the best restaurant in Rome. But in Italy, there is nothing better than  a nice sincere meal in a local trattoria...
