I hate to write this review about WD-50, because the people working there were some of the nicest and the most hospitable in NY and generally i try to avoid negative reviews.But my dinner in WD-50 last night could win the prize of the worse dinner of 2007 and I am also very surprised that some people consider that WD-50 is a good restaurant. So I thought i am entitled to my opinion as well...
OK, you can say, that the cooking of Wylie Dufresne is "expermental",he is a "mad scientist" who doesn't have to be understood by everybody. But in my humble opinion knowing how to cook and intelligent marriage of tastes and products should go before "art " and "creativity". Moreover, i didn't see the cooking at WD-50 that expermental. The only thing that was prepared in the "molecular way" was the mole lentiles that came with my foie gras.And I couldn't have guessed that if i didn't ask the waitress...
