Once again about The Ledbury

Australian born chef Brett Graham is the creative force behind what I think is one of London’s best restaurants since a a while: The Ledbury (127 Ledbury Rd, Notting Hill, London W11 2AQ,tel. +44 20 7792 9090 ). His awards include two much deserved Michelin stars and a number 13 on the World’s Top 50 List .

On a recent trip to London, I stopped by for lunch and enjoyed artichokes with a dusting of frozen foie gras and the restaurant’s signature dish, mackerel with pickled cucumber, one of the best mackerel dishes I’ve ever had. I chose à la carte this time, but 37.50 £ for the three-course set lunch is a  bargain at a 2 Michelin starred restaurant : you might start with roast quail with chestnut cream, chanterelles and pear to start, followed by fillet of sea bass with brassicas, chopped oysters and sake, and Yorkshire rhubarb souffle with mandarin leaf ice cream to finish…
