Basque gastronomy temples

Mar  23  –  26

Pintxos crawl and visits to the most difficult-to-book gastronomy temples in the Basque region.

Basque cooking holds a reputation for being one of the best cuisines in the world, Meca for foodies, who respect and adore the quality of local products and their simple preparation, not forgetting the roots of traditions.

During the “Basque gastronomy temples” tour, the guests will be invited to visit some of the most important, ingredients focused, culinary temples in Basque region. We will also join Pintxos crawl along narrow stone streets of San Sebastian.

Casa Julian: which is one of the top restaurants in the world specializing in grilled-to-perfection beef.

Elkano: which is a specialist in local ingredients and special turbot. Hands down, no one outsources and grills turbot as precisely as Aitor Arregi and his grill masters. Slowly and patiently grilled on charcoal ashes, the turbots are served whole on your table with some tiny bit of sea salt and olive oil to mesmerize your buds. World’s best turbot at Elkano- it’s all about the terroir product and not ruining it.

Asador Etxebarri: an impossible-to-book restaurant that was voted the third best restaurant in the world according to World’s 50 Best. The restaurant has gathered a cult of followers from across the globe for its bud-clutching culinary offers.
For Etxebarri chef Vittor Arguinzoniz, food is religion, and ingredients are sacred. The chef mastered the art of grilling any food, capturing the heat of the fire, and honing the skills to achieve legendary levels of cooking. Victor Arguinzoniz is the ultimate shokunin and artisan who has dedicated his life to his craft. Years of painstaking practice are the only secret to this unique level of artisanship you’re about to explore.

“Everything is based on a lot of work, a lot of sacrifices, trying to do the things I like in the world of this ancestral technique. But, in reality, for me, success is the sum of small daily achievements, those small daily achievements are adjustments, changes and improvements.”

Bittor Arguinzoniz
