An Exceptional Deep dive into Burgundy

Apr  20  –  23

Luxeat is pleased to offer a truly unique, insider’s tour at the table with the vigneron’s from eight noble domaines; dining at fine restaurants; a Burgundian banquet and Paulee and insights into the gourmet traditions of the world renowned Côte d’Or region of Burgundy. And in keeping with Luxeat’s passion for Japanese excellence, an Omakase dinner, featuring both high-end Sushi and Wagyu offerings, prepared by Sushi Master, Tiago Cardoso di Silva, who is joining us from Paris for this exceptional event.

Chateau Clos de Vougeot in the autumn season, Burgundy, France

This may be your only opportunity to sit at the same table in Burgundy with some of the best vigneron’s in the world; to ask them about their lives and wines, to feast like Burgundian nobility for three days and drink a very high end selection of Premier Cru and Grand Cru white and red Burgundy wines sourced directly from their cellars and private collections. Provenance does not get any better than this.

It’s akin to spending three days on a private insiders tour with the Rolling Stones, where Mick says to you: “Right, me and Keith and the lads are here and we are going to play you our greatest hits, just for you lot. You can ask us whatever you want and then we are gonna feast and party!! “

It has taken us 5 months of work to put this event together, as it’s unprecedented to get eight notable vigneron’s to agree to share their lives and wines at the table in the spirit of Burgundian hospitality, with a small private group of people.

The Highlights

1: The Omakase dinner on Friday evening, prepared by Sushi Master, Tiago Cardoso di Silva, who is joining us from Paris for this exceptional event.

In keeping with Luxeat’s passion for Japanese excellence, our Omakase dinner will feature both high-end Sushi and Wagyu offerings, accompanied by a range of exceptional Premier and Grand Cru wines from Puligny Montrachet and Meursault, Vosne Romanée and other renowned villages of the Cote d’Or.

To accompany the Sushi courses we will be enjoying aged White Burgundies in magnum from the three great Clos Monopole vineyards in Puligny Montrachet of domaine Jean Chartron. These magnums are part of the family cellar collection and will be presented by Jean-Michel Chartron.
&
To accompany the Wagyu beef and other savoury courses; we will be enjoying a range of refined and pure Red Burgundies from Vosne Romanée & Nuits Saint Georges. These bottles are supplied directly from the prestigious cellar of domaine Thibault Liger Belair, as presented by Thibault Liger-Belair.

2. A Burgundian banquet and Paulee at Chateau de Charodon on Saturday evening, featuring the biodynamic wines of Louis Vallet. Louis has been likened to being the new Henri Jayer of Burgundy by the renowned chef and wine bar owner; Fabienne Parra: the former owner of Ma Cuisine and Le Bout du Monde.
There will be live music during the dinner and Paulee. In true Burgundian tradition, a Paulee is where Luxeat guests are invited to share their own favourite Burgundy wines with each other and the vignerons, after the conclusion of the dinner wines served by Chateau de Charodon.

3: Three fine Burgundian restaurant meals with specially selected Luxeat menus and Burgundian vignerons with their fine wines in attendance.

The Details

This is a Springtime celebration of Burgundy, featuring noble fine wines, made by friendly, renowned vigneron’s who appreciate the hospitality and fine cuisine of the Burgundian table and gourmet ingredients. This is an exclusive trip to explore, meet and feast with some of the world’s top wine-makers in an oenophile’s paradise.

Luxeat cordially invites you to join with us to celebrate the joy of living well on our first-ever trip to Burgundy’s Côte d’Or region.

Our select group is limited to only 10 guests who will take a delicious voyage that includes all dinners and lunches, specified wines, guided tours and tastings.

This unique tour includes authentic feasts in winemakers’ homes, famous local restaurants, and a Burgundian banquet and Paulee featuring live music.

Burgundian winemakers will attend all meals, bringing red and white Burgundies from their own cellars to share, explore and discuss with us.

As we eat, drink and talk, our vigneron’s will share the stories behind their fine wines, uncovering their wine-making techniques, preferences and personal rhythms, as well as answering your questions. This level of personal access over the dinner table for three days is rarely available, even to the most experienced Burgundy lovers and collectors.

The tour is co-hosted by Aiste and Burgundy & Piedmont wine-connoisseur and freelance wine writer at the Path of the Stars/Spirit of Burgundy, Greg Love. Greg has lived with many well known Burgundian winemakers throughout the Côte d’Or region for a period of three years since 2010, to understand their methods, philosophies and style.

His detailed knowledge, connections and intimate understanding of the vineyards, people, food and wines of the Burgundy region gained since his first visit in 1996 will be available for us to enjoy during our tour.
