The story of Armand Heitz

The roots of Armand Heitz’s estate go back to 1857, when the Nié-Vantey family began cultivating vines across Burgundy. Through marriage and inheritance, the domaine grew under the care of the Lochardet family, eventually passing into the hands of Armand’s grandparents. In the 1980s, his mother, Brigitte Lochardet, created the Heitz-Lochardet estate and maintained the vineyards organically, with the wines sold to Maison Joseph Drouhin.

In 2011, after completing his oenology studies in Switzerland, Armand Heitz returned to Burgundy to revive and reshape the family domaine. With a fresh yet deeply respectful approach, he began bottling under his own name, gradually expanding the estate to include an impressive lineup of appellations, from Pommard Clos des Poutures to Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru, and later, vineyards in Beaujolais.

Today, Armand farms using principles of agroecology and permaculture, guided by a vision of biodiversity, sustainability, and balance. His wines reflect this quiet integrity — elegant, precise, and rooted in the character of each terroir.
