Il Carpaccio at Royal Monceau

Il Carpaccio at Royal Monceau has always been one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Paris. Since the refurbishment of the hotel, the newly opened Il Carpaccio is even better. It serves creative yet convivial Italian cuisine where the product is a king. Vitello tonnato with tuna tartare, strascinati with pork, fennel sauce and finocchiona (Tuscan salami), or spinach and sausage stuffed squid with green beans and ghiotta sauce…All the dishes created by Roberto Rispoli are delicious.

Le Royal Monceau hotel has been redesigned by Philippe Starck who transformed a classic luxury “palace” hotel into a cool luxury “palace” hotel.  I must say it really stands out from the rest of the high-end hotels in Paris. There is a bookstore, cinema, “Le Royal Éclaireur ” shop and even an indoors cigar bar called “La Fumée Rouge”.
